Humantay Lake
At the foot of Apu Humantay, you can see a lake in whose turquoise waters the snows of the mountain are reflected, a beautiful place that allows us to observe a still clean scene of nature in this part of the Vilcabamba mountain range in the Andes; Accessing this lake is not difficult despite exceeding 4,200 meters above sea level, suitable for those who want to add a bit of trekking adventure to their trip.
It is traditional in the Andean culture to make offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apu (deified mountains) by residents and visitors, as is done in Humantay.
This tour will take us through the Andean towns of Limatambo and Mollepata, where you can see the Quechuas who still keep Inca traditions alive. You will walk and ride horses to the lake, enjoying stunning views of the Andes. The incredibly turquoise lake is situated at the base of the majestic Humantay Glacier Mountain. The views are absolutely stunning.

The departure is at dawn, at 4:30 a.m. on an exciting trip that lasts about three hours to reach the base camp of Soraypampa, where you have breakfast and gain strength to ascend towards the lake for an approximate period of one hour and forty minutes along the way you enjoy the pure mountain air. and the spectacular views of the snow-capped mountains of Humantay and Salkantay.
After staying in the place, the excursion continues along the same path to Soraypampa where we have lunch in an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie. The return trip to the city of Cusco is done in the same way with the satisfaction of knowing one of the most beautiful places in the region.
