Early in the morning, at 8:30 a.m., the trip begins with a journey of approximately half an hour to the archaeological site of Tipón, where a system of platforms or monumental cultivation terraces associated with a complex hydraulic system can be seen. which demonstrates the dominance of the Incas over the liquid element, in addition to the ceremonial use of the place in relation to water.
The second destination is a large walled city, with straight streets, two and three-story buildings, a military zone and a ceremonial area associated with large plazas. The city of Pikillaqta is very old and was built by the people of the Wari culture ago. two or three millennia, influencing the entire Lucre Wetland basin, a paradise for bird watchers.
The next point of interest is the Andahuaylillas chapel, a temple of colonial Andean baroque style that surprises with the profusion of syncretic paintings inside that cover the walls and coffered ceilings, in addition to the paintings and the profusion of gold leaf on its walls. altars and altarpieces, attributes that have earned it the nickname “The Sistine of America.”
